Ridgecrest Intermediate School (RIS) is one of three public middle schools in Rancho Palos Verdes (the others being Palos Verdes Intermediate School and Miraleste Intermediate School). The school is part of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District.

Ridgecrest placed 52nd in the Math Counts competition at the national level in 06-07 year. Due to declining enrollment in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District, the school was closed in 1991. With increasing enrollment, the school re-opened in 2000.
