"Ride It" is the first single from Jay Sean's second album My Own Way. It was written by Jay Sean himself and Alan Sampson. It was released on January 21, 2008. The song has since reached the Top 20 in the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number eleven. It has also been charted on several other European charts including the Bulgarian National Top 40, Polish National Top 50 and Romanian Singles Chart.

Ride it was originally planned to be released in the United Kingdom on the 5th November, 2007 followed by the album My Own Way on 3rd December, 2007. However, music channels were unwilling to play it at the time and eventually reached an agreement to play it extensively from December onwards, consequently Jay pushed back the single's release date as well as the album's release date.

Ride it was released in the United Kingdom on the 21st January, 2008 debuting on the charts at number 11. It debuted at number 13 on the UK Download Chart as well. By the second week, it fell to number 13 on the UK Singles Chart. It is his first solo effort to miss the top 10 however has stayed in the top 40 longer than any of his other songs. Furthermore it has charted in other European countries such as Bulgaria, Romania, Poland and Portugal.

[edit] RemixThe official remix of "Ride It" features Kidd Skilly. However there are various other remixes including one called Ride it Ishi Desi Mix, which brings his Desi roots back. [edit] Music videoOn September 28, 2007, the video was exclusively available to watch on 3G mobile handsets. A clip of the video was added to the 2Point9 YouTube Channel on September 29, 2007. By October 9, 2007, the full video was added on the 2Point9 YouTube Channel. The video premiered on The Box and other music channels in December. It starts off with Jay Sean arriving outside a club, the video is interspersed with shote of Jay in a dark hallway. He flirts with a woman and then a dance ensues, the video ends with the girl arriving by his side. [edit] References
