Map of Ridge Route, appeared in the Los Angeles Times on November 16, 1919.
The original caption reads:
- Hysographic Sketch of the Ridge Route. Drawn by Charles H. Owens of the Times art staff. The Ridge Route, paved its full length with a twenty-foot concrete highway, is now open to traffic. The Ridge is one of the most scenic drives in Southern California. The thousands of motorists who are planning to make the trip over the new route today are advised by the Auto Club to take the road through Hollywood, Lankersham, Van Nuys and San Fernando.
Note that the "5300 ft." at the summit is a typo; the actual elevation was 4233 feet.
