[edit] Issue 1

Dear Rickyk10, hello and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate you coming here to contribute, however your recent edits to Wirreanda High School have not helped the encyclopedia and have now been removed. If you continue to do this, you will be blocked from editing for a while, possibly even indefinitely. We'd rather not do that and would rather you contributed constructively, hence this minor warning. Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day! - Alison 01:17, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Issue 2

Oy why did you remove the flag icons on Mark Vidukas page? Jared Wiltshire 22:31, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

I have reverted your second edit on this issue, Ricky. There is no logical rationale to remove them - they signify the country those clubs are located in, nothing more, nothing less. Please refrain from further vandalism or state your case in the relevant discussion page. Silversov 07:38, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

What are you on about? There are plenty of football (soccer) players with flags used in a similar manner - Viduka is far from the only one. Check the pages of other Socceroos such as Brett Emerton, Patrick Kisnorbo, Mark Milligan, Tim Cahill, Harry Kewell, etc. Given these circumstances I find it strange you're adamant about the issue. [edit] Issue 3

A tag has been placed on Melanie McLaughlin, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ElderGods (talk) 04:59, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself. If you do not believe the article should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you.-Carados (talk) 05:07, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Issue 4

A tag has been placed on Lee Furlong requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Carados (talk) 05:07, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Issue 5

A tag has been placed on Cupset (football), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Recreation of protected term; see Cupset

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. I am a big nerd with no life so I apologize if I have come over to strongly but I am in love with Wikipedia. May the force be with you! JuJube (talk) 11:55, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Corluka.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Issue 7

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Image:MartinPetrov.jpg, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material without the permission of the author. As a copyright violation, Image:MartinPetrov.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Image:MartinPetrov.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. For text material, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source, provided that it is credible.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Image:MartinPetrov.jpg and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Image:MartinPetrov.jpg with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Image:MartinPetrov.jpg.

However, for text content, you may want to consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Mosmof (talk) 13:59, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Fernandotorresliverpoolfc.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:04, 20 January 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 14:04, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Please don't upload images you find on the web and license them under GFDL as you have done with multiple images. You do not own the copyright to the images and they are not compatible with Wikipedia. --Mosmof (talk) 14:04, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
It's nothing personal against you - when I notice that an image has copyright issues, I check to see if the same user has uploaded other images that infringe on copyright. You just happened to upload a lot of images that are copyrighted (pretty much anything you find on the web are copyrighted). Also, I'm not deleting them, the admins are - if they were acceptable images, then they wouldn't delete them. Finally, don't take things personally - it's understandable that you aren't familiar with Wikipedia policies or copyright laws, and I'd be happy to answer any questions you have. But please remember to be civil. BTW, which photos did you take yourself? --Mosmof (talk) 04:47, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Cricketcaptain.PNG. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We requires this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:PatHeaton.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 04:55, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Issue 14

⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:Salma.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 05:22, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing. ----Ðysepsion † Speak your mind 05:38, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

You have been repeatedly uploading images which you do not have the copyrights to. You falsely claimed that you have taken them. Moreover you have repeatedly disregarded Wikipedia's policy on civility. You are not the type of editor who should be warning me or any other person. ----Ðysepsion † Speak your mind 05:44, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Issue 16

You have been blocked for a short period for vandalism [1] as well as ignoring a number of polite requests to refrain from uploading non-free images. As a consequence your edits are disrupting the improvement of the project. As you do not seem interested in improving articles or following Wikipedia policies, any further disruption will likely result in a indefinite or significantly longer block. longer—Moondyne 05:47, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Issue 17

You have been temporarily blocked from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for persistent vandalism. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

[edit] Issue 18

Thanks for uploading Image:Cricketcaptain.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it may be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 13:33, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Issue 19

A tag has been placed on Andrés Fernández Moreno requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay.
