[edit] WP:COI concerns

Hi, I'm concerned about an possible inherent conflict of interest in your edits to Preston Council election 2007. Please feel free to address my concerns here, thanks. RJASE1 Talk 22:06, 8 April 2007 (UTC) All done! RickSeymour 13:54, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

I'm the investigator for this request. As a candidate in that election it's better to post such things to the article talk page and request that uninvolved editors transfer information to the article itself. I don't know whether negative campaigning happens in your district, but there's a superficial appearance of impropriety that one's opponents could exploit. DurovaCharge! 04:42, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

appearance of impropriety? Such as what? All I wanted to do was put an external link to my website where voters can see what their candidate is all about and the previous editor put in a wrong name for the Labour guy running The campaign is only in the early stages and there has been no negative campaigning to date that I am aware of. All I mean is that in certain kinds of dirty campaigns someone might try to run a headline of Candidate edits Wikipedia article about the election. Even if the edits themselves were neutral and factual a voter who doesn't read beyond the headline might construe that negatively. Some inappropriate political edits were news last year.[1] DurovaCharge! 15:11, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
