Gnostic Cross
When you make the two one, you will become the sons of man, and when you say, 'Mountain, move away,' it will move away.
Gospel of Thomas, (106)
Cueva de las Manos, Santa Cruz, Argentina

The hand paintings seen here at the Cueva de las Manos in Santa Cruz Province, Argentina were created between 13,000 and 9,300 years ago using bone-made pipes for spraying the paint on the wall. Most of the hands are left hands, which suggests that painters held the spraying pipe with their dexterous hand. The cave is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

[edit] Template:UpdatedDYKportal

Would be interested to hear your input, at Wikipedia_talk:Did_you_know#Template:UpdatedDYKportal. Cirt (talk) 08:03, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Y Done. RichardF (talk) 13:41, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey, any ideas on why I can't get {{UpdatedDYKportal}} to work when specifying entries for more than just one portal? For example, I'd like to use it to let Susanlesch (talk · contribs) know I added her recent DYK about Jonathan Zittrain to Portal:Criminal justice and Portal:Internet, but I can't quite seem to get it to work right on show preview. Cirt (talk) 15:37, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Try it now. One parameter had the wrong number ("5" where a "3" should have been). I also got rid of the serial comma. ;-) A test is here. RichardF (talk) 17:56, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Thank you so much! Cirt (talk) 18:09, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Importer Bot FYI

Created a new category at Wikinews, n:Category:Wikinews Importer Bot. Can you check it out and make the necessary adjustments to the steps at the instructions of the User:Wikinews Importer Bot page and if appropriate the other related pages? Cirt (talk) 19:01, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

I'll check it out, but I don't know when I'll get to it. RichardF (talk) 14:37, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] New Project

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 17:51, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

I'll pass (Cirt keeps me busy enough ;-) but thanks for the offer. RichardF (talk) 20:43, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Would appreciate your input

Encountering some difficulty regarding a randomized feature at the intro subsection for Portal:Chicago. Could you please provide your input at Portal_talk:Chicago#Intro_images, and assure TonyTheTiger (talk · contribs) that the use of a randomized image in the intro of a portal is not my "gimmick", nor a feature even developed by me, but instead is a feature utilized in multiple other Featured Portals such as Portal:Oregon, Portal:Iceland, Portal:Philosophy of science, Portal:Indiana, and others? I am afraid that the discussion is degrading at this point to incivil comments such as: "I think you are going overboard with your gimmicks." -- Thanks, Cirt (talk) 07:50, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

I added a comment. RichardF (talk) 16:39, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your input. I think I am going to give work on that portal a break, it's probably for the best. Cirt (talk) 18:02, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

That's cool. It's just a wiki! :-) RichardF (talk) 18:06, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Portals

I see you only usse the dynamic randomizer feature in two of oine portals. What should I infer from that?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 08:00, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

It's optional and acceptable. :-) RichardF (talk) 15:27, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
