[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello RichardDKBaird, welcome to Wikipedia!

I noticed nobody had said hi yet... Hi!

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Wikipedia Boot Camp, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.

Richard, please let me add my welcome. I hope that you enjoy WIkipedia and making your own contributions to this great project. I'll try to answer your question abouthe List of gay porn stars. The blue links, as you noted, are for those performers who already have articles. For the rest of the performers, who knows whether there will ever be articles about them? There are so very many gay porn stars, that it seems unlikely that articles will ever be written about all of them. Indeed, there are more performers added to the list every week than new articles being created about gay porn stars. As a result, it seems to make sense not to link all of the names. Anyone who wants to write an article about an unlinked performer can easily edit the list to add the link, click on the new red link, and start writing. There are some performers for whom the red links already exist. I suppose those links could be taken out, but that would be a fair bit of work, so I doubt ayone will bother. The Wikipedia:Manual of Style has more information about linking, including advice against over-linking. See, in particular, WP:MOS-L. If you have other questions, feel free to post them on my talk page. Again, wlecome Zeromacnoo 11:08, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

  • Oops! I am so sorry! I did that by mistake. I have now restored your description. Please accept my apology. I am glad you caught my mistake. I must slow down when I edit so that I don't do things like that again. Keep up the great work. Zeromacnoo 23:41, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Richard, I've thought some more about this. Young Physique does not belong on the list of gay pornographic magazines because it was not pornographic. The genre of beefcake magazines, like Young Physique, was a fascinating cutural phenomenon and deserves an article of its own. I also saw a wonderful movie, Eye on the Guy, recently, that covers the life of Alan Stone, a noted beefcake photgrapher. With what you wrote on Young Physique and with what I remember from the movie, I have created a new article, Beefcake magazines, to cover this. This article is linked from the list of gay porn mags, and from the Beefcake article. I am hoping that you can help expand this new article since you probably known more about the subject that I do. I look forward to working on this article with you. Zeromacnoo 12:40, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
