Rick Ross (rapper) → Rick Rossyyyyyyy – {most people think of the rapper when they hear “Rick Ross” M. Burmy

- Support Rap is more popular than consultantism [[User:M. Burmy|M. Burmy]]
- Umm you might want to move it... because the rapper definitely has more prominence in today's culture especially for people who might use this site than the cult consultant. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.11.110.112 (talk) 18:14, 11 April 2007 (UTC).
[edit] This article is not non-POV
The material at the bottom is probably commercially derived hype -- it needs to be changed so it's not so oriented toward selling Rick Ross records. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrewrowe (talk • contribs) 18:22, May 20, 2006
- I assume you meant that the article isn't written in NPOV (which I agree with). Phrases like "His use of rhetorical devices in his songs reveals his mastery of the english language" need to be removed. Qutorial 02:46, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
he said, i feed em steroids to strengthen up my ChiCkens, what the hell does that mean. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.183.18.139 (talk • contribs) 14:01, May 4, 2006
Also remember that as he explicitly states, Rick Ross " aint bout no funny sh*t, still bit**es and bizness". There is no need for this so I removed it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.135.164.170 (talk • contribs) 14:56, May 27, 2006
[edit] Weasel words, Professionalism
This article has weasel words that need to be removed, or sourced.
"as he is often compared to some of rap's most influential figures, and is considered a lyrical genius by residents of Dade-County" and "Lyrical specialists have blasted Ross"
He is often compared by whom? He is considered a lyrical genius by what residents of "Dade-County," and why is this relevant to the article? It would seem obvious that residents of his home town would have a bias towards his music, and I don't see the point in including "their" position on his music in the article unless they are specialists, artists or otherwise qualified to make judgments on music. Which lyrical specialists have blasted Ross? All of these (and perhaps more) need to be cited or removed.
Phrases like "This is not surprising" and "for his use of weaker rhymes" should be reworded to sound more professional. It currently sounds as if the article is taking a stance on "rhyme strength," and unless someone can come up with a good reason for "This is not surprising" being there, I am going to merge the two sentences and remove the offending statement. Qutorial 02:46, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
I don't think the phrase "Ross started out taking big ole black ones in the rear, he called the men in prison birds, because they would all flock to his caboose like condors" is very professional. It might be appropriate for lyrics but not an encyclopedia. Emmaskis (talk) 00:15, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
how can i meet you in person because i am your biggest fan of all time.
[edit] rick ross diagnosed with cancer today?
what is this about rick ross and cancer? is that confirmed, or is this someone's idea of a joke? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.137.253.9 (talk • contribs) 17:29, August 24, 2006
this page is almost constantly vandalized. it still says he was born in Flushing, NY, which is untrue. also, I have no idea who taylor turetsky is, but I believe that is a silly vandalism as well. 24.90.225.169 00:58, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Subtle?
"In this song, Busta Rhymes makes several effective, yet subtle, references to cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar, hinting at a possible trafficking network between himself and Escobar's children."
I can only assume this is meant as sarcasm. I think subtle should be changed blatant and repetitive. I don't think sarcasm is appropiate for an encylopedia article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevehrowe2 (talk • contribs) 18:27, August 27, 2006
[edit] The Real Rick Ross?
Rick Ross the rapper is taking the life of the Real Rick Ross that is serving a life sentence for everything the "rapper" Rick Ross is trying to say he did. The Real Rick Ross is from South Central LA. The REAL rick ross had the same look as the "rapper." Let's not support fake people, please.

- too bad this article is about the emcee, not some piece of crap drug dealing entrepreneur. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.100.5.79 (talk • contribs) 12:52, September 8, 2006
Yeah man he just took the alias because he could identify with the dilemma of either selling drugs or dying young... No error
This article is about a piece of crap emcee that's posing as a drug dealing entrepreneur. Neither the rapper nor former drug dealer died young, so there's no way he could identify with dying young. I read a few places on the net, I forgot where, that the real Rick Ross also rapped, but I couldn't find any recordings of his :(
Rick Ross is hard please stop badmouthing him.. if you dont like his shit than dont read it its not too difficult do you really think he cares what people think of him no.. you should be a little more concerned about all these panzy ass bands that steal even more well known names
[edit] influences
in the credits of his album Rick Ross clearly stats that JT money is one of his influences I am gonna place that here since he said that in his album.
Btw why are all the T.I. fans keep on vandalising this article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.40.87.122 (talk • contribs) 18:00, October 2, 2006
[edit] Record Sales
Removed the U.S. record sales for his special edition album (not sure that'll be out there), that stated it went out to sell more than 289 million units. No need to say how retarded that is... User:Kajito
Ok i took of the part where it says 8 times diamond on the account of thats 80 million albums and no one has ever sold that much im not even sure if his album has even went gold yet
[edit] Sources
Most of the text is taken word by word from his biography on AOL Music http://music.aol.com/artist/rick-ross/736150/biography?albumid=0 without even mentioning it as a source. That should be changed.
I think the ref to zoe pound should be removed. To associate someone with a particular gang without sources is bad practice. 143.207.8.4 12:12, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The Street Catalog: Official Mixtape

[edit] Age?
Why has his name been changed back and forth so many times from 30 to 33 back to 30? Taylor21 01:03, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Album Confusion
Which one is his second album? Is it Rise To Power or Trilla, as Rise To Power is not in his discography, and not to mention the fact that it sometimes states Trilla is his third, and sometimes his second. If he released Rise To Power in September, he is going to release Trilla in November, 2 months later? Seems a little soon... could somebody straighten this out? I needa change

- Rise to Power is a collection of older material that was released last month. Eli lilly 19:25, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
