[edit] Personal life

Has he been married twice?

  • Yes...his first wife was Dina, they divorced sometime around or before 1985. He married Chris Bowen in late 1986 give or take. I think Chris was around as his girlfriend when Mears was recovering from his '84 crash. Doctorindy 19:11, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

I think the sentence He is twice divorced (from wives Dina and Chris) and has sought treatment for alcoholism twice is not appropriate for several reasons:

  • It can be considered as a controversial issue and there is no reference.
  • It is not relevant to the article, Mears is a racing driver.
  • Even if it was true, it is the kind of tabloid stuff inappropriate for biographies of living people, unless it had a definitive influence in his career.

Under wikipedia policy, I would consider removing it unless reliable references are provided and there is some consensus about including that kind of data. Pascualangulo (talk) 16:00, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Results table

I included the CART standard table. I took the references from www.race-database.com and http://www.champcarworldseries.com/Drivers/Performance.asp?DriverID=193. I think it is accurate but probably some of the short names of the tracks are not clear? Pascualangulo (talk) 20:38, 26 March 2008 (UTC) Also a couple of things, some results like 26, 30 and similar should probably read "retired", but appear as a final position in the champcar website stats. Some of the blank races are probably "inj", in particular those of 84 and 85 after his crash, or 92 when he was replaced with Paul Tracy for most of the second half of the season. I could not yet find a suitable reference for that. Pascualangulo (talk) 07:12, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
