[edit] Rick Bruner
My initial take on this article was to nominate it for speedy deletion. My main concern was that the author Rickbruner appears to be the subject of the article as well.
Pepsidrinka explained to me that a possible violation of WP:NOT does not call for a speedy delete. As suggested, I instead tagged for POV. Llort 02:51, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
I know this guy. All the info there is factually correct, though it leaves out a lot of personal color (e.g. his fondness for Hungary, for example).--pfrankenstein
- I have never brought up any issue with the factual correctness of this article. Your reply however does not address the fact that Wikipedia is not a tool for self promotion and that there are guidlines detailed in Wikipedia:Autobiography that I feel the author of this article may have ignored. --Llort 15:50, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
The reason I don't believe this is topic neutrality issue is this: the tone and content of the info here is purely factual, there is no valuation (positive one may think) of the person itself. Aren't there people pages on Wikipedia anyway? And if a person (assuming there is minimal importance of that person to warrant inclusion in Wikipedia, which I think this is the case here) happens to publish his own profile, there is nothing per se non-objective.
Rick Bruner writing here. Yes, I was the one who created this entry. I now regret it, as it's embarrassing that this entry retains this taint of shame over it. Hubristically, I felt I merited a footnote on the Internet in the form of a Wikipedia entry. I see that the entry has been edited a few times since I originally posted it. I now petition the powers that be at Wikipedia to please take action and either delete this entry or remove the stigma attached to it. -- Rickbruner January 28, 2007
