[edit] Personal financial information

I removed the following text as it didn't seem notable (£25 thousand pounds isn't a lot of money and his finances are his concern), also the wording suggested there might have been POV reasons for adding it.

As a Public Policy lawyer with top city law firm Clifford Chance for ten years 1992-2002, Thomas has accumulated considerable financial assets. His declaration of interests states that he has more than GBP25,000 with each of the following institutions.

Coventry Building Society Nationwide Building Soceity National Savings Invesco [Perpetual] Scottish Widows Edinburgh Portfolio Standard Life Merrill Lynch (His wife also has investments with Legal & General, AXA and a portfolio of investments with USB handled on a discretionary “blind trust” basis. [1]

Prior to his appointment (not election) to this role he worked in Office of Fair Trading (1986-92); National Consumer Council Citizens Advice Bureau, Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), Independent Television Commission Advertising Advisory Committee; Member, CBI e-Business Council and on Lord Chancellor’s Civil Justice Review Advisory Committee.

The biographical information is taken from the official site, so i will add it back and cite it.

[edit] Criticism of ICO

I moved the following text (with some minor edits) to the ICO page, as it seemed more relevant to that article.

Labour MP David Winnick recently attacked the idea that concern about the Surveillance Society, as promoted by ICO, is widespread. Winnick told the Home Affairs Committee in June 2007 that while he often received letters requesting more CCTV monitoring he had never received a single letter of concern opposing monitoring.[1]
