[edit] Years
If Mr. Russo was born in 1949, he is not likely to have graduated from the U of Arizona in 1967. That year, when he turned 18, is more likely the year when he graduated from high school. 64.178.106.162 11:06, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] External link
I recently posted a link to a video interview with Richard Russo that was done by a public broadcasting station in Washington, DC. However, this link was removed with the explanation that it violated the standards for external links. Admittedly I am new to Wikipedia but, in reviewing the "What should be linked" information on the guidelines for external links, I do not understand why the link I added was viewed as a violation. Interviews are explicitly mentioned as resources that should be linked, and there are several other interviews that apparently did past muster. Mjgodzilla 20:04, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
- When your contributions consist exclusively of adding external links to the same site over and over again, you are considered a spammer, regardless of the merits of the links. Wikipedia is not a mere repository of links, no matter how appropriate. It's an attempt to create a collaborative encyclopedia, the content of which is produced by continuous discussions and negotiations among contributing editors. Any time a mass addition of external links is detected, they are (or should be) treated as spam and removed. If you wish to see the links re-added, follow the instructions in my earlier message: Propose each link on the affected article's Talk page. If there is a consensus for adding the link, or if no one objects after a reasonable amount of time, you can add the link to the article. In your edit summary, point to the proposal/discussion on the Talk page so that other editors will be able to see that the link is not spam.--ShelfSkewed Talk 22:17, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] education
Are those years correct? Did Russo obtain an M.A. after a PhD? 24.132.109.105 (talk) 00:01, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
