I'm including rather a lot of background in this article. It might be better if it went somewhere else - perhaps the Percy-Neville feud, or maybe The Wars of the Roses.

I erroneously stated in an editing comment that Alice Montacute was not descended from Joan of Kent. She is in fact descended, but on her mother's side, not her father's. But I'm not putting the sentence back in -- it's not super relevant here, and if anywhere belongs in Alice's article, not here. In fact I'm also removing some other detail about her father which is extraneous in this article. Loren Rosen (talk) 04:39, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
