A question on lineage: I heard form one of the lectures at vic that he is a descenden tof the maclaurin of macluarin series. this is the sort of rumour that is likely to be unfounded, but if anyone knows about it it would be an interesting addition. Maclaurin is my great great uncle, and certainly family lore has it that Maclaurin of Maclaurin's Series fame is an ancestor, but we've been unable to either verify or disprove this. Arohanui (talk) 00:54, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
