Ricky Gillies

Ricky Gillies (born August 24, 1976) is a Scottish footballer currently playing for Neilston. He is most notable for his career with St. Mirren.
An attacking midfielder, Gillies was regarded as one of the most promising youngsters in Scotland when he came into the first team at St Mirren. He attracted considerable interest from other clubs in both Scotland and England during his first spell at the club before a move to Aberdeen in 1997.
Gillies' time at Aberdeen was unsuccessful and he returned to St. Mirren three years later. He was awarded a testimonial in 2002, and left for Partick Thistle in 2005. He briefly played as a player-coach in New Zealand with Hawke's Bay United before returning to Scotland with Stranraer in 2007. After leaving Stranraer he signed for Neilston.
