Rick Schwartz is an independent producer and a former senior vice president of production at Harvey and Bob Weinstein’s Miramax Films. He was a producer of director Martin Scorsese’s films Gangs of New York, starring Leonardo DiCaprio; The Aviator, also starring DiCaprio; and The Departed, starring DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, and Jack Nicholson; Robert Benson’s adaptation of Philip Roth’s The Human Stain, starring Nicole Kidman and Anthony Hopkins; Alejandro Amenabar’s The Others, also starring Nicole Kidman; Giuseppe Tornatore’s Malèna, starring Monica Belluci; and Jez Butterworth’s Birthday Girl, starring Kidman. In partnership with Nicole Kidman, Schwartz is producing The Bachelorette Party and Headhunters for Twentieth Century Fox Films and The Quality of Life Report for Warner Bros.. With Salma Hayek he is producing La Banda, a Spanish language romantic comedy.
