Rick Ladson is an Australian Rules Footballer who plays for the Hawthorn Hawks in the Australian Football League. Ladson was selected at no. 16 in the 2001 AFL Draft. He is an underrated defender and outside midfielder who has played solidly making slow but steady progress in his 5 seasons with the hawks.

He debuted in round 6 of 2003 against the Carlton Blues and continued to play 6 of 22 possible games in 2003.

In 2006 he played all 22 games with an average of 18 disposals per game and finished 9th in the Best and Fairest. In 2007 Ladson continued his good form again playing missing only 2 games in the home and away season and playing 2 finals games.

Ladson wears jumper number 4 for the hawks.

Ladson's bears the nickname 'sheepdog' for his constant lurking around the back of packs.
