Rick Howard is a Canada-born skateboarder who now resides in California. His part in the second Plan B video, "Virtual Reality", is well-known for his advancement of switchstance skating and mesh jersies.
He began his skateboarding career skating for Blockhead Skateboards (where turned pro), and Gullwing Trucks. He quit Blockhead and skated for Plan B Skateboards in 1991 and during his time with Plan B, he left Gullwing and switched to Independent Trucks. He quit Plan B and formed a new company named Girl Skateboards with Spike Jonze, Mike Carroll, and Megan Baltimore in 1993. Howard was sponsored by DC Shoes, where he had a signature model shoe. He left DC to form his own shoe company with Mike Carroll, Lakai Footwear.
He owns the Crailtap distribution company, which in turn owns such companies as Lakai footwear, Royal Trucks, Fourstar Clothing, Girl Skateboards and Chocolate Skateboards.
The fakie frontside big spin heelflip is named the Rick flip after him, although it is not known whether he invented it or not.
