Richview, Toronto

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Richview is a neighbourhood in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located near the north-western corner of the city, in the northern part of the former City of Etobicoke which merged with five other municipalities and a regional government to form the new "City of Toronto" in 1998.

Richview is bordered by Royal York Road to the east, Highway 27 to the west, Highway 401 to the north and Eglinton Avenue West to the south. A street named The Westway travels east-west through the middle of the neighborhood. The Westway is served by the 52 Lawrence Avenue West TTC bus route.

The name began in 1852 when a post office called "Richview" opened in this area. Richview gave its name to the proposed Richview Expressway.
