Richmond Hill line

The Richmond Hill GO Station is a train and bus station in the GO Transit network located in Richmond Hill, Ontario in Canada. It is a terminus on the Richmond Hill line train service.

Currently, the Northbound terminating trains during the evening peak hours have to be driven back to Union Station for further services or to Willowbrook Yard for storage, as there are no facilities nearby to keep the trains charged during the off-peak hours. However, there are plans for wayside power to be installed near the station to maintain train-schedule reliability within the rail line.

Out of the all the Richmond Hill line stations, this is the only station that has a reduced length platform (accommodating only up to an L8 consist, a trainset consisting of 8 Bombardier BiLevel Coaches and at least a locomotive.

There have been rumors that the line will be extended to serve the Community of Gormley, however due to the lack of demand plans have been shelved, along with the tracks being the only link between Northern Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area for rail traffic.
