Richard Wesley "Richie" Novak[1] is a fictional character from the ABC daytime drama All My Children. He is portrayed by actor Billy Miller, since August 30, 2007 to present.

[edit] Character history

Richie Novak, a former convicted felon, is the younger brother of Annie Lavery. Richie served a seven year prison term for assault and armed robbery, which he allegedly did not commit. On August 30, 2007, under the alias of Wes, Richie arrives in Pine Valley and seeks a job at Krystal Carey's bar The Comeback. Since then, he has taken what seems to be a genuine romantic interest in Krystal's daughter, Babe. However, with it recently coming to light that he is, in fact, Richie Novak, it is unknown if this interest in Babe is genuine or if he is simply planning to use her in a revenge scheme against his sister.

On November 5, 2007, it is revealed that Richie has an incurable form of leukemia. He soon frames J.R. Chandler for the murder of Zach Slater, who was missing. Later, it is revealed that he took out a life insurance policy and made his psychiatrist in prison as his sole beneficiary. However, the terms of the deal stated that his psychiatrist would only receive the insurance money if Richie died in an accident, not of natural causes (i.e. his leukemia). Ryan discovers this and deduces that Richie came to Pine Valley to provoke Annie and Ryan into killing him. Richie later makes Babe his sole beneficiary.

He steals J.R.'s bone marrow without J.R.'s permission. Babe finds out that Richie paid a hooker to pretend as though she slept with J.R. and make him look like sleaze to Babe. Babe becomes furious with Richie for doing that, and is on a mission to find out what other misdeeds Richie has committed.
