Richard Wayne Chambliss, Jr.

Richard Wayne Chambliss, Jr. (born March 21, 1973) is an American poet and translator.

He is a translator of the Italian poets Andrea Zanzotto, Umberto Saba, Giuseppe Ungaretti and Salvatore Quasimodo. He has also translated the Russian poets Nikolai Zabolotsky, Alexei Parshchikov, and Edward Shenderovich.

His own work includes Four Eclogues, The Ballad of Sassy and Lean, and The Traveling Salesman Problem.

His ethereal presence in California in the 90's and connection to emigre Russian poet Eugene Ostashevsky has been the fruit of much of his translation. He currently resides in Portland, Oregon.
