After graduating from the National University of Singapore, Dr Richard Teo began his training in ophthalmic surgery at various hospitals. He went on to pursue his Master’s degree at the Department of Ophthalmology (National University of Singapore) while researching on the development of medical therapies for patients with ophthalmic pathologies. He was also trained at the Department of Anaesthesia (Singapore General Hospital) where he ensures that patients undergoing elective surgical procedures do not experience any pain or anxiety.
Academic contributions have been another trademark throughout Dr Teo’s career and he has accepted the invitation of Guest Lecturer at the Nanyang Technological University where he specializes in Surgical Technology and help to supervise various undergraduate and graduate students. Innovation has always been his calling, and Dr Teo is also an inventor of various Medical Devices (Patent approved) and presently involved in the commercialization of some of these instruments (Intravenous Cannula Assembly) that has been publicized by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore. During this time, Dr Teo developed a keen interest in aesthetic procedures and applied his research inclinations to constantly update and provide patients with the finest cosmetic services. In his free time, Dr Teo enjoys attending musical plays and other performing arts.
