Richard Perlmutter

Richard Perlmutter (born ?) is a songwriter, singer, producer and author. He was classically trained guitarist, pianist, composer, and arranger from Los Angeles. He's best-known for creating Beethoven's Wig, which started as Sing Along Symphonies CDs, one of the most honored children's music series ever, and has grown to include Read Along Symphonies books. Beethoven's wig has won three Grammy Award Nominations, three Parents' Choice Awards, twice been named American Library Association Notable Recordings, and been honored with 40 other national awards.

Perlmutter has produced 3 additional albums including albums for Victoria Jackson, former cast member on Saturday Night Live, and the Grammy Award winning group Nickel Creek, and a compilation of one minute songs by 29 top children's recording artists called "Hear and Gone in 60 Seconds." He has also released two other children's recordings, Tin Pan Alley, an anthology of songs from the Tin Pan Alley era, and Hot Diggity.

Perlmutter has written music for radio and TV and has been featured as a voice actor on numerous commercials. He holds degrees from Cornell University, Rhode Island School of Design, and Yale University. He also taught at Yale.

He now lives in Los Angeles, California with his wife Judy and three children.
