Richard Parnell Habersham

Richard Parnell Habersham is an African American actor in theatre and film and a real estate broker[1] in Harlem in the Manhattan borough of New York City.

Richard Habersham has appeared in theatre[2] productions such as Ron Mark's fantasy farce Panache! [3] and on Broadway in Joe Turner's Come and Gone,[4][5][6] the Tony Award nominated drama written by the late Pulitzer Prize winning playwright August Wilson. Habersham played the role of Travis Younger[7] in the Union Square Theatre 25th Anniversary Off Broadway production of Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun.

In film,[8][9] Habersham played Eddie in Do The Right Thing,[10] Theodore Cotter in The Long Walk Home,[11][12] the young Jake Branch in the black-and-white independent feature Lou, Pat & Joe D,[13] and Cathy's younger brother in The Cabinet of Dr. Ramirez, a "freewheeling musical horror spoof"[14] directed by Peter Sellars.

Born in Manhattan and raised in Harlem, Habersham earned his B.A. in history from the University of Virginia. A practicing real estate broker,[1] he is currently a degree candidate for a M.S. in real estate development at Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture. The history of the American Civil War is one of his particular interests.[15]
