Richard Páez

Richard Páez is the current manager of Alianza Lima and a former coach of the Venezuela national football team. During his tenure, which lasted from January 2001 to November 2007, Venezuela achieved their best period in international football, improving from their status of being the worst team in South America. They reached the quarterfinals of the 2007 Copa America, and also scored several victories in FIFA World Cup qualifying.
Páez played for the national team in the 1970s. His son, Ricardo Páez, is currently a member of the national team.
In 2008, he was signed as Alianza Lima's coach.
