Richard Naylor (born 28 February 1977 in Leeds) is an English footballer.

He graduated through the Ipswich Town youth academy and is the longest serving player in the current Ipswich Town squad. In 2002 he spent loan spells at Millwall and Barnsley.

The striker switched to a central defender role on manager Joe Royle's advice and has become an important part of the Ipswich defence ever since.

He is often referred to as "Bam Bam" or "Psycho".

On September 1, 2006 he was given a testimonial at Ipswich for 10 years as a professional at the club. 10,000 fans attended the game at Portman Road to see the current Ipswich team play against the Wembley 2000 XI. It finished 3 - 3 with Naylor fittingly scoring a last minute penalty.

His career has been hampered by serious injuries and his career never filtered out as many hoped. However he is on the road to recovery and made his comeback as a substitute against Portsmouth in the FA Cup.
