Richard M. Cohen

Richard M. Cohen (born February 14, 1948 in Connecticut)[1] is a U.S. journalist and award-winning television producer. The former senior producer for CBS News and CNN, Cohen is a three-time Emmy Award winner and the recipient of numerous honors in journalism. He occasionally writes columns for the "Health and Fitness" section of the New York Times.

Cohen is married to television star Meredith Vieira, co-anchor of NBC's Today Show. They live in Westchester County, New York, with their three teenagers.

Cohen was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1973. His condition worsened over 30 years. During that time Cohen was also struck with two bouts of colon cancer. He has written an autobiographical account titled, Blindsided: Lifting a Life Above Illness: A Reluctant Memoir.[2]
