Richard J. Keane is a politician from Buffalo, New York. First elected to the New York State Assembly in 1976, he served in that body until his retirement in 1998. Prior to his service in the state legislature, Keane served as the 2nd District representative to the Erie County Legislature, and served in the Legislature's predecessor body, the Erie County Board of Supervisors. He was the first Democrat ever elected Chairman of the Erie County Legislature.
