Richard Genelle played Ernie on Power Rangers from 1993 to 1996. His character was the owner of the Angel Grove Youth Center—the most popular hang out spot for the teens of Angel Grove—who was generous and good-natured, often giving out free drinks and food for special occasions, and helping out his customers if they needed it.

All of a sudden he abruptly left the Youth Center to do emergency volunteer work in South America, and passed ownership of the Youth Center to Gregg Bullock's character of Lieutenant Jerome Stone, as revealed by Stone during the Turbo season in 1997. In real life, Genelle left after Power Rangers: Zeo due to weight & health problems. His last appearance in Power Rangers was at the very end of Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie. He is now going through medical treatment for obesity and addiction to cigarettes.

In the MMPR Karate Club green ranger kata home video, Jason Frank called Richard by his character's name, Ernie, when he was served with a cold drink. This suggests that the PR actors call him by that name in-between takes as well as during filming.
