Richard Evans (Radio Presenter)

Richard William Gilmour Evans (b 17th February 1958, Swansea UK) is a British journalist and Broadcaster.

He was educated at Llanelli Boys Grammar Technical School, and studied Electrical Engineering at Bath University before studying Journalism at City University in London. He trained as a Newspaper reporter on the South Wales Argus before joining Radio West in Bristol (later GWR Radio) and then joining the BBC. He presented Newsbeat on BBC Radio One and was the news presenter on the Zoe Ball Breakfast show. He has presented programmes for BBC Radio Four and BBC Radio Five Live and currently hosts a lunchtime phone-in programme on BBC Radio Wales.

In 2005 he was involved in controversy when details of an unbroadcast confrontation with BBC Royal Correspondent Nicholas Witchell were published in several national newspapers.
