Richard Attias

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Richard Attias is a Moroccan-born events organizer. He is best known as the husband of Cécilia Ciganer-Albéniz, ex-wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy. [1] [2]

Attias and Cécilia had an affair from May 2005, which supposedly ended when she returned to her then husband Nicolas Sarkozy. However, in 2007 there were renewed rumours of an affair, and they married on 23 March 2008 in New York City.[3]

"In a romantic move worthy of a François Truffaut movie, Cécilia tearfully abandoned (him) to run down an aircraft's steps and into her husband's waiting arms." [4]
