Richard Atha

Richard E. "Dick" Atha (born September 21, 1931 in Otterbein, Indiana) is a retired American basketball player.

He played collegiately for the Indiana State University.

He was selected by the New York Knicks in the 1953 NBA Draft.

He played for the Knicks (1955-56) and Detroit Pistons (1957-58) in the NBA for 43 games.

Richard Atha was the principal of Benton Central High School outside Fowler, Indiana in the 1970s and '80s, taking the athletic director post in the summer of 1984.
