Richard Asante (born July 24, 1985 in Ghana) is an Canadian/Ghanaian soccer player who previously played for USL Premier Development League side Toronto Lynx. He was born in Ghana, but he and his parents moved to Canada and he now holds Canadian citizenship.
In his high school years Asante won the Ontario Cup twice as a part of Westview Centennial, and was the 2001 Ontario Youth Soccer League MVP. Asante was drafted by Toronto FC as the 27th overall pick of the 2007 MLS SuperDraft, but left the club to join the Lynx.
Asante was previously at Syracuse University from 2003 until 2006 and played four years for the Orange.
