Rich DiSilvio

Rich DiSilvio (born 1957 in New York, USA) is an illustrator, new media developer, author, and designer who is perhaps most noted for his surreal fantasy illustration. He also creates works in the role of photographer, fine artist, digital artist, web designer, architectural designer.

DiSilvio studied under Harold Stevenson at the The Stevenson Academy of Fine Arts[1]. Previous to his art and new media career DiSilvio founded a construction company that designed and built many of his architectural designs throughout Long Island and Manhattan, New York.

Rich DiSilvio is most noted for his illustrative work in the music industry. His work has adorned the projects of Pink Floyd, Yes (band), The Moody Blues, Yngwie Malmsteen, Cher, Crowbar (U.S. band), Lita Ford, Roy Orbison, Willie Nelson and many other performers. DiSilvio has also created fantasy and sci-fi book covers, fine art prints and giclees on canvas.

As an author, DiSilvio has written about the Western world in his magnum opus "The Winds of Time"[2]. This sprawling work is a chronological study of the titans that shaped Western history. It includes such personalities as Plato, Aristotle, Julius Caesar, Augustus, Nero, Jesus, Paul the Apostle, Irenaeus, Hadrian, Constantine, Dante Alighieri, Leonardo DaVinci, Johannes Gutenberg, Christopher Columbus, Queen Elizabeth I, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Charles Darwin, Karl Marx, Hitler, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, Guglielmo Marconi, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Ronald Reagan, and many more.
His interest in classical music led to the creation of a website about the famous pianist/composer Franz Liszt. The site offers a sampling of DiSilvio’s prose and poetry. Other works of poetry by DiSilvio have been published in print and online.
As a new media developer DiSilvio produced the first interactive educational CD-ROM on autism, which was introduced on October 19, 1999[3].
DiSilvio has also created new media projects for cable TV shows such as The Mole, Celebrity Mole, The Man Show, Oblivious and special interest documentaries.
