Rich, Young and Pretty is a 1951 musical film mady by MGM, directed by Norman Taurog, written by Dorothy Cooper (story) and Sidney Sheldon, and starring by Jane Powell, Danielle Darrieux, Wendell Corey, Vic Damone and Fernando Lamas.
The film tells the story of a rancher's daughter visits Paris to meet her mother and find love.
During the filming, Jane Powell was pregnant. After several years in Europe, Danielle Darrieux returned to Hollywood to make this movie. The film marked Vic Damone and Fernando Lamas's first roles on the screen.
It was the nominated the Academy Awards for Best Music, Original Song. The song "Wonder Why" was written by Nicholas Brodszky (music) and Sammy Cahn (lyrics).
