Ricardo Poma

Ricardo Poma (b.1947) is the Chief Executive Officer of the family owned conglomerate Grupo Poma, based in San Salvador, El Salvador.

Ricardo Poma obtained an industrial engineering degree from Princeton University in 1968 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1970. He worked first in Grupo Poma’s industrial division and then its real estate division before taking the reins of the conglomerate from his father Luis Poma in 1980. Today, Ricardo Poma receives support in running the family business from his three sons (including eldest son Fernando Poma) and older brother Ernesto Poma, who is president of Transal, the company’s Miami division.[1]
