Frederica "Rica" Lucy Erickson (nee Sandilands) (born 10 August 1908) is an Australian naturalist, botanical artist, historian, and author. She was born in Boulder, Western Australia. Rica was the eldest of eight children of Phoebe Cooke and Christopher Sandilands who had both come to Western Australia from Victoria in 1906. Christopher Sandilands was a farmer's son and worked at the Great Boulder Mine.
In 1980 she was awarded an honorary degree of doctor of letters from the University of Western Australia for her research and work in the field of botany. In the same year she was named Western Australian Citizen of the Year in the category of the Arts, Culture and Entertainment, and in 1987 was awarded membership of the Order of Australia.
In May 2007 she was awarded the Heritage Council of Western Australia individual award for her life long contribution to heritage in Western Australia.
Erickson was involved with the writing and compilation of the Dictionary of West Australians in its many volumes.
Lenore Layman edited a volume for the Royal W.A. Historical Society - a range of works published in that societies magazine Early Days - that ranged in date from 1964 through to 1997. In that work - a select bibliography identifies 15 published books as author from 1951 to 1999 - as well as numerous other edited books, book chapters and articles.
