Re the paragraph: --In areas outside its native range, island gooseberry has been known as an invasive species. For example, in Michigan, planting of any currant and gooseberry species is prohibited.--

It is because of blister rust - see [1]. Thus have removed sentence against Michigan (only applies to parts of the state anyway).89.240.15.161 10:39, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
