Ričardas Berankis (born June 21, 1990 in Vilnius, Lithuania) is a Lithuanian junior tennis player. His first and current coach is Remigijus Balžekas from Šiauliai. He is currently ranked World No. 586 in the singles ATP rankings. Berankis is the most promising Lithuanian tennis player.

Berankis was born on June 21, 1990 in Vilnius, Lithuania. He started playing tennis at the age of 2.

Berankis's Grand Slam singles breakthrough came at the 2007 U.S. Open - Boys' Singles, where, seeded 15, he won the title. Vladimir Ignatic, the number one player, was knocked out by Tomas Fabbiano, who was knocked out by Jerzy Janowicz, who Berankis defeated in the final. Ričardas was able to defeat 7th-seeded Roman Jebavý and third-seeded Matteo Trevisan of Italy en route to this victory over Jerzy in the final. In the tournament, Ričardas did not lose a set, however lost in the first round of the doubles competition.

After winning the Grand Slam, Berankis was invited to the press conference for half hour, then he went back out and warmed up the defending champ and world No. 1, Roger Federer.

Berankis reached the semifinals at the 2007 Australian Open - Boys' Singles and 2007 Wimbledon Championships - Boys' Singles, and reached the quarter finals of the 2007 French Open - Boys' Singles.

Berankis and Ottawa-born Jesse Levine were the two kids Roger Federer invited to Dubai after Wimbledon as sparring partners, as he prepared for the hard-court summer season. After the Dubai trip Berankis exploded with the victories.

Aside from his U.S. Open victory, Berankis won the Portugal F3 Futures event. In the final, he defeated Belgium's Niels Desein. Another victory came out at the International Junior tennis Canadian Open in Repentigny, Quebec where he defeated Chilean Guillermo Rivera-Aránguiz in the final.

Having also won the Orange Bowl and Yucatan Cup Berankis was recognized as the ITF World Junior Tennis champion for the year.

On March 3rd, Berankis competed in a Futures tournament, the USA F6 Futures 2008, in which he won the Men's Doubles with Siarhei Betau against Uladzimir Ignatik and Adam El Mihdawy. In the Men's Singles, Berankis fell out in the 2nd Round against Ryler De Heart of the USA.

Berankis also competed in an ATP Challengers tournament, the 2008 Baden Open, in which he lost in the 2nd round to world number 228 Gabriel Trujillo-Soler. In the 1st round he won against world number 146 Daniel Koellerer.

On June 9th, Berankis qualified to his first Professional ATP tournament, the 2008 Orange Warsaw Open. Berankis lost in the 1st round to world number 96 Wayne Odesnik.
