[edit] Sysop

Congratulations! You are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. You might find the administrators' how-to guide helpful. Good luck. Angela. 15:43, Aug 21, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Images of Italy

I have a pile of photos of various Italian locations (architecture, etc) that has been given to me for use on Wikipedia, provided that it appear on pages. (In other words, the person who took it, doesn't want them to sit around in an image dump). So, if anyone who would know major landmarks in Italy would want to go through them with me, and find where they should go on various pages, that would be great Rhymeless 06:47, 23 Aug 2004 (UTC)

How many are there? You could put them up on a gallery sub-page of your user page, leave a note here, and invite people to go and have a look at them and put them in the relevant articles if they feel they are needed. I am happy to do this so you've got one volunteer already. — Trilobite (Talk) 17:30, 23 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Roughly 30. Allright, I could probably put them there, as long as they didn't remain there indefinately. Thanks. Rhymeless 18:36, 23 Aug 2004 (UTC)
This seems to me like a form of blackmail: "use my image RIGHT NOW or I won't let you use it EVER". What harm would it do if an image was uploaded but not used immediately? If the photo is good then eventually an article will be written that can use it. Can you persuade the photographer to chill out and just GFDL the photos? Gdr 11:14, 2004 Aug 24 (UTC)
Here is your question from the village pump in case you hadn't seen the replies yet. Angela. 22:01, Aug 27, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Hi, Rhyme. Thank you so very much for the nice note. Anyway, it seems as if the Bandit has given up for now. Take a look at the "user page" that was set up for this throbbing migraine of a user: User:B-Movie Bandit and User talk:B-Movie Bandit. This guy is such a tool. - Lucky 6.9 02:41, 19 Sep 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Japan Railways

Hi Rhymeless, Not sure why this redirects to Japanese National Railways. Japan Railway seems a better target. Did you have a preference? Or would you mind if I changed it? Fg2 05:57, Sep 25, 2004 (UTC)

Heyo. Redirect as seems neccesary. My Japanese knowledge is of media, literature, and history, in that order. Thank you in advance. [[User:Rhymeless|Rhymeless | (Methyl Remiss)]] 06:16, 25 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Thanks! Will do. Fg2

[edit] Pepsi

I've changed it back, but a Pepsico page didn't list those particular brands, but listed all the others. -- user:Zanimum

[edit] West Virginia University

I saw that you had also been making updates to the WVU page as I have been adding more content to it. I'm trying to get it looking good with plenty of info. I was, however, thinking of removing all of the internal links you placed in the notable alumni section. I just think it looks terrible having so many red underlines all in the same spot. Do you agree? I do like the fact that someone seeing it may be inclined to write an article, but I just think it looks terrible with so many uncreated page links. Your thoughts? Reply on my talk page please in case I forgot I left you this message :-) --ScottyBoy900Q 20:42, 06 Oct 2004 (UTC)

[edit] What's In a Name?

Salutations, Rhymeless! I saw your question about actresses' names on Wikipedia:Reference_desk#changed_names_during_marriage and posted a reply there. Hope this is of help. Ave atque vale! PedanticallySpeaking 14:52, Oct 19, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] esTotW

Since you put your name down as a spanish to english traslator, i thought you might be interested in the new Spanish translation of the week collaboration project. This weeks collaboration is Género chico.(Disclosure: this is a bit of a "mass mailing", I'm working my way down the list of Spanish-to-English translators.)

btw, i love your take on what wikipedia is ("Here, let me tell you about EVERYTHING.") its just so true.
