Rhytida patula is a species of medium-sized, air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Rhytididae.

This species is endemic to the western part of the South Island of New Zealand.
[edit] Shell description
The shell is depressed, with rapidly increasing whorls, thin, almost entirely chitinous. The surface is finely malleated. The colour is brownish-olive.
The shell diameter is up to 28 mm, and height up to 12 mm.
