[edit] Shell description

The shell is rather large, thin, largely chitinous, with rapidly accelerating whorls, resulting in a very large elongate-oval aperture. The surface is finely malleated by a laterally compressed network of anastomosing radial ridges, crossed by exceedingly fine spiral striations. The shell colour is pale brown over the early whorls, with the body whorl being dark olive-brown.

The shell diameter is up to 33 mm, and the height is up to 19 mm.
