Rhytida greenwoodi stephenensis is a subspecies of medium-sized, air-breathing, predatory land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Rhytididae.
[edit] Distribution
This snail is endemic to Stephens Island in Cook Strait, New Zealand.
[edit] Shell description
The shell is larger than typical Rhytida greenwoodi subspecies, but much more loosely coiled, and with considerable acceleration of the last whorl. The oblique spiral ridges extend strongly on to the dorsal surface, thereby intensifying the malleated appearance of the subsidiary sculpture. The shell colour is olive-green, without an umbilicus brown zone.
The shell diameter is up to 34 mm, and height up to 19 mm.
