Rhyssoplax clavata is an uncommon species of chiton in the family Chitonidae.

This species is endemic to New Zealand's Hauraki Gulf.

[edit] Description
The shell is rather small. Sculpture is of eight or nine radial ribs on the head valve, two on the lateral areas of the median valves, and ten on the tail valve. The central area has six to eight short shallow longitudinal grooves on each side.
Coloration is variable, grey or greyish-brown, mottled with light and dark green.
Length is up to 16 mm, and width up to 10 mm.
