Rhyssoplax aerea huttoni is a subspecies of chiton in the family Chitonidae, endemic to New Zealand. It is found on the east coast of the South Island, and Stewart Island and the Auckland Islands.
This is a regional subspecies of Rhyssoplax aerea aerea in which the radial ribbing tend to be more granulose, and the vertical grooving of the central area longer and extending higher on the jugum (or yoke).
Coloration range is similar to Rhyssoplax aerea aerea, but include some that are pale cream, with a sparse greenish pattern.
Length is up to 40 mm, and width 23 mm.
