The genus Rhynchosporium includes 10 species [1], including the following plant pathogenic species: R. oryzae and R. secalis. Rhynchosporium secalis is one of the most destructive pathogens of barley worldwide, causing yield decreases of up to 40% and reduced grain quality [2].
