Rhyddfedd Frych
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rhyddfedd Frych (435? -?), sometimes called Rhyddfedd ap Categern was a late 5th century King of Powys. His actual date of birth is uncertain, as is his date of death and the date he ascended to the throne. The name of his father, Categern, has lead some to think that he was the son of Cadeyrn Fendigaid, and thus brother to Cadell, who proceeded his thronehood. This is, however, more so speculation than fact.
[edit] Extended Rule
It is likely that he governed over the kingdom after his son, Cyngen Glodrydd, had taken the throne until Cyngen Glodrydd reached maturity and was able to rule himself.
