Talk:Rhumsiki

[edit] Name
The name is spelled Rumsiki, Rhumsiki, and Roumsiki. I surveyed traditionally published sources only (both those I own and those available on Google Books and Google Scholar) and found that Rhumsiki edged out Rumsiki as the most common spelling, but only barely. Theoretically, the article should be at the French spelling, much like the town Douala is at that name rather than Duala. The logic is that Francophone Cameroon's locations should use French spellings, while Anglophone Cameroon's places should use English spellings; Rhumsiki is Francophone. Unfortunately, I'm not sure whether the name is pronounced with the French /u/ sound or the French /ou/ sound. So, on balance, I think Rhumsiki is the best name for now. — Brian 07:56, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- I've created the redirect for yet another spelling,"Rhoumsiki." It is apparently sometimes used, although only rarely, according to Google. I've also rearranged the pictures for visual effect. Picaroon 23:58, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- Cool, thanks. — Brian (talk) 01:21, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
- Does the photo placement look alright for you? I always fear that making it look better in my browser will have adverse effect on others. Picaroon 01:26, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
- It looks fine. The photos now kind of sandwich the text between them, which is apparently a WP:MOS no-no, but one with which I don't entirely agree. :) — Brian (talk) 01:34, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
