I've been working on a couple projects through Emerson College and Harvard Law School that involve Wikipedia. The first took a look at what "authority" is on Wikipedia, how people have tried to rhetorically manufacture it, and what the community has done in response. The second, which is ongoing, has to do with using Wikipedia in the classroom.
If you have knowledge of or opinions about using Wikipedia in schools (K-12) beyond that information which is already present on this site, please don't hesitate to send me an email or write something on my user talk page. By "using Wikipedia in schools" I refer to three roles in particular:
- Researching with Wikipedia
- Teaching WITH Wikipedia
- Teaching ABOUT Wikipedia

While I've been using Wikipedia and watching its community for some time now, I'm relatively inexperienced when it comes to writing articles. The Walkman Effect is my first stab at creating an article. Please tell me what I did wrong :)
